Panattoni takes European league top spot for eighth time

Panattoni, the company behind the investment of more than £400m in two major Kent warehousing and distribution parks, has been ranked Europe’s top logistics developer for the eighth year in a row.

In the last three years, Panattoni has successfully delivered nearly 150 million ft2 of logistics, warehousing and distribution space in 367 projects across Europe. The report found that the company had delivered nearly three times more floorspace space than CTP, the second largest developer, with VGP Group in third place and Prologis in fourth.

The top ranking is the result of an annual survey undertaken by PropertyEU, the leading pan-European information source for the real estate industry.

Tony Watkins, Development Director at Panattoni UK, said: “The demand for high-quality logistics space has seen us continue to meet the needs of the industry’s top operators and household names.

“Kent is playing an important part in our ongoing success. By the end of this year our Panattoni Park Aylesford, a £280m investment will be fully occupied with all buildings having been pre-let. When the tenants are fully operational it will be home to 4,000 jobs. In Swale, work is also underway on Panattoni Park Sittingbourne, the largest speculative development in Kent for more than a decade.”

Panattoni, Europe’s largest privately-owned industrial developer, has committed to delivering more than 25 million sq ft of new industrial space across the UK in the last 5 years.

Tony Watkins, added: “We are keen to bring forward other sites in Kent and to support the county’s burgeoning logistics and distribution industry.”

Panattoni’s success has been built upon keeping ahead of the game and working closely with occupiers and the local communities to deliver warehousing development that reflects the changing way we all work and live. The Aylesford development has attracted Amazon, DHL, Evri, Fowler Welch, Marley and Tesco.

To achieve the highest possible environmental performance for its buildings and mitigate the impact of rising energy prices for its tenants, Panattoni has adopted a suite of energy-saving technologies. Its Kent buildings incorporate roof-based solar PV, ground heat source pumps, high levels of insulation and efficient lighting, and all have achieved BREEAM excellent.

Panattoni operates in the UK, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Spain, Portugal, France, Hungary, Italy, Austria, Sweden and the Netherlands.
