Panattoni takes European league top spot

For a record sixth year in a row, the company behind the £180m investment in Panattoni Park Aylesford, Kent, has been ranked Europe’s top logistics developer.

In the last three years, Panattoni has successfully delivered nearly 75 million ft² of logistics, warehousing and distribution space in 133 projects – nearly three times more than the second largest developer, Segro, and further ahead of Prologis in third place.

The top ranking is the result of an annual survey undertaken by PropertyEU, the leading pan-European information source for the real estate industry.

Panattoni, Europe’s largest privately-owned industrial developer, also has nearly 51 million ft² of logistics space under construction over the next two years, an investment of more than €4.4bn.

To achieve the highest possible environmental performance for its buildings and mitigate the impact of rising energy prices for its tenants, Panattoni has adopted a suit of energy-saving technologies. Its Kent buildings include roof-based solar PV, ground heat source pumps, high levels of insulation and efficient lighting.

Demand for space at Panattoni Park Aylesford has been in line with expectations, with DHL, Fowler Welch and Hermes already announcing they have signed for a minimum of 15-year leases.

Construction work is ahead of schedule with work under way on the £7m road which will link Bellingham Way to Station Road.

Panattoni operates in the UK, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Spain, Portugal, France, Hungary, Italy, Austria, Sweden and the Netherlands.
